It is planned to reduce the number of checkpoints from 41 to 25 and replace them with dismounted patrols and mobile patrols in the Donbass.
This was stated by Konstantin Bushuyev, the Deputy Head of the National Police, Police Colonel, the press service of the department reports.
According to him, the number of checkpoints will be reduced after May 30.
“Their main function will be to provide pass control within the security zone. The security zone is a zone that is located between the administrative and territorial borders of the Lugansk and Donetsk regions and is the second line separating the security zone and the combat operational zone,” – Bushuyev explained.
It is noted that through the reduction of checkpoints, it is planned to create 68 dismounted patrols that will carry out tasks within populated areas and 38 mobile patrols that will assume the function of mobile checkpoints.
Bushuyev added that there will be a complete reformatting of the checkpoints. This will allow providing a pass control in the security zone for a higher quality level.
The police of the Lugansk region have already started work on tactical training of the staff, which is conducted in each unit by the soldiers of the special police battalion of the Main Directorate of the National Police.
It is also reported that all checkpoints should be re-equipped on a regular basis.
