Borys Kolesnikov, the Prime Minister of the Opposition government, said this on the air of the “NewsOne” channel on Tuesday, May 15.
He stressed that it is necessary to begin restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine from the place where people die – from the Donbass. “To date, the so-called republics for Russia are as useless as an udder on a bull. They steal the help from the Russian Federation and do not do anything else. During this time, not a single building was built on the uncontrolled territory of the Donetsk region. Previously, Donetsk received about a billion investments per year. The sooner Donetsk returns, the more it will be easier for Ukraine. I think that a compromise will be reached, and the Donbass will become united and Ukrainian,” – the Opposition Prime Minister said.
The politician commented on the scandalous statements of Yuri Artemenko, the head of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting regarding unscheduled inspections of TV channels.
“The fight against freedom of speech has been held for 4 years under such motto: “Whoever is against the government, he is an agent of the Kremlin”. Artemenko said: “We are closing the channels, they will pay fines” – this is enough to appeal to law enforcement agencies in order to bring him to criminal liability. He commits an official misconduct, abuses power and brings members of the National Council to this,” – Borys Kolesnikov emphasized.
According to him, all attacks on independent media are links in a chain. “The attack on “Inter”, the blockade of “NewsOne”, the problems in its time with “Ukraine” and “112” – all these actions could be encouraged only by the authorities. Where are the investigations into the murders of Oles Buzina and Pavel Sheremet? Until now, the murder of Georgiy Gongadze has not been solved. The authotities are complete bankrupt, and this is all its agony,” – the opposition politician said.
He also expressed surprise at the fact that some people seriously had considered the external control a boon for Ukraine. “I do not understand why some Ukrainians consider the external governance of the country to be a boon. Ukraine has already been under external control for 4 years already. External control is not an investment or Western transparent laws, it is actions in the interests of other states,” – Borys Kolesnikov emphasized.
