Today, on July 10, the miners again came with a vigil beneath the walls of the Verkhovna Rada. As Mikhail Volynets, the chairman of the Independent Trade Union of Coal Miners of Ukraine, reported on his Facebook page, the miners' demands were also related to the payment of wage arrears, which is 1.1 million UAH today, and is growing every month. At the same time, the miners demand the resignation of Igor Nasalik, the Minister of Energy, and urge people's deputies to support draft law No. 8362 “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2018” regarding proper financial support for the state sector of the coal-mining industry”.

Earlier, Mikhail Volynets said that the miners had appealed to the Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman with a demand to assess the actions of his subordinate and, having considered illegal actions against the miners, dismiss the Minister of Energy Igor Nasalik due to failure to fulfil his official obligations.

In addition, it is reported that on July 6, the miners of the “Kurakhovskaya” mine and state-owned enterprise “Selidovugol” came to Igor Nasalik, the Minister of Economic Affairs, with the question “what to live for if we do not get salary for the third month?” The minister had assured the miners that 334 million UAH would be transferred on the accounts of coal-mining enterprises on July 9, but the miners did not receive any money.
