The self-proclaimed DNR demands from Ukraine to return 277 prisoners to it.

That was stated in the office of Daria Morozova, the human-rights ombudsman of the DNR, Izvestia reports.

As of July 6, the number of people the DNR demands from Kiev has decreased from 288 to 277 people. It is reported that Ukraine allegedly refuses to confirm such a large number of prisoners.

The so-called DNR added that there was no information about these persons – that allows them to be considered missing.

“Nevertheless, we demand that Kiev return the remaining 277 people. Ukraine recognizes the existence of only 82 prisoners, and existence of 195 prisoners it does not confirm,” – the DNR stated.

We recall that on December 27 last year, there was a large exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and the Separate Districts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, 73 people were handed over to the Ukrainian side, and 233 people went to the Donbass. Since then, negotiations on a new exchange format are continuing. In total, according to the Ukrainian special services, it was possible to release 3224 people from captivity in the Donbass.

As you know, in May of the current year, Russia offered to exchange prisoners under the formula “157 by 20”. 157 of which are Russians, and 20 are Ukrainians.
