According to the results for 2017, Ukrainian agrarians sold 17.6 thousand tons of potatoes, which is 3.5 times more than in 2016. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. It was noted that about $ 3.4 million was raised for potatoes in monetary terms. The largest buyer was Belarus, where 10.5 thousand tons was sold for 2.6 million dollars, Moldova (4,000 tons for 0.5 million dollars) and Azerbaijan (2.5 thousand tons for 242 thousand dollars) took the second place.
In 2017, 3.8 thousand tons of potatoes for a total of 2.05 million dollars were imported on the territory of Ukraine. The main importers for Ukraine are the Netherlands and Egypt. According to the press service, a positive foreign trade balance for the past year for this position was 1.4 million dollars.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine exports a record amount of agricultural goods to the EU. In addition, Ukraine has begun exporting to the EU more than three hundred new goods.
