Since the beginning of the conflict in the Donbass, people have forcibly and daily disappeared. Moreover, on both sides of the border line. Each such incident was recorded by law enforcers.
According to Yevgeny Zakharov, the Director of Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group, people could never be taken from a train, tortured or killed. According to Zakharov, law enforcers have information about 80 people missing in the uncontrolled territory of the Donbass and about 57 in the territories controlled by Ukraine. The reports of the Human Rights Protection Group also note that 2,725 people have been missing from 2014 to 2017 inclusively in the Donetsk region, half of which have not yet been found.
In the Lugansk region for the same period of time, 1,205 citizens had gone missing. Even now, nothing is known about 572 of this list.
