The patient and the doctor will themselves coordinate the need for a visit home by the doctor.
At a briefing on the campaign to choose a doctor, Uliana Suprun, Acting Minister of Health said that doctors would continue to come on house calls to the Ukrainians after the introduction of medical reform in Ukraine.
“The patient calls the dispensary or his doctor and together with the doctor decides whether the doctor is going to see him, or the patient goes to the doctor. It's not true that we cancel the doctor's cal; it's just now it will be decided directly between the doctor and the patient, and not as before – the patient calls the administration and the administrator decides whether the doctor should go for a call or not. This is not a medical person, the administration should not make such decisions,” – Suprun said.
According to her, if the patient did not make a declaration with the doctor, he still has the right to receive help, including emergency conditions. Also, emergency medical care remains free of charge for all.
