It is planned to postpone the entry into force of the law “On Housing and Utility Services”.

Due to the unavailability of subordinate acts, a law regulating new rules for providing housing and utility services to Ukrainians may not be adopted on June 10.

This was reported in the special-purpose committee of the Verkhovna Rada. Therefore, the Cabinet initiates the postponement of the deadlines for 2019. This is due to the fact that certain subordinate acts of the new document do not add up with the acting resolutions of the Cabinet.

There were inconsistencies in the issues of concluding contracts between suppliers and consumers of services, stopping the provision of public services in case of non-payment, charging penalties. And if the new law on housing and unility services is adopted on June 10, then in fact the majority of Ukrainians will remain without utility services.

We recall that after the adoption of this law, all residents of high-rise buildings should create condominium associations within three months or at first to choose a ruler who will represent the interests of the residents of the house.

According to Government statistics, 80% of the housing fund in Ukraine has not created any condominium association yet.
