Today, on June 14, the law on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court came into force in Ukraine.

That document was published in the official parliamentary publication “Golos Ukrainy” yesterday. It will come into force on June 14.

It is reported that the anti-corruption court will consider cases under investigation by the NABU. It will be able to start working when it gathers at least 35 judges.

The selection of judges will be carried out by the HQCJ (High qualification commission of judges of Ukraine) with the assistance of the Public Council of International Experts. Both foreigners and citizens of Ukraine can become the experts.

The HQCJ and international experts will be able to decide at the joint meeting whether the candidate has the right to hold the position of judge in the anti-corruption court.

The document suggests the President introducing another law to parliament – directly on the creation of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.
