Igor Nasalik, Minister of Energy and Coal Mining of Ukraine, believes that in the present conditions there is no need to raise the cost of gas for the population. According to the minister, even the price of raw materials can be reduced, UNN reports with reference to Nasalik's comments concluding the meeting of the government.
According to the official, only 3% of imported gas is used for the needs of citizens. The remaining 97% are covered by internal extraction. Indicators such as profitability of extraction and investment performance data are used in order to determine the indicative. According to Nasalik, their calculation shows that the gas price can be reduced by 5-7%. At the same time, the minister specified that this is his opinion as an individual, and is not an official position of the government.
According to UNN, while maintaining the existing injection rate of raw materials, by August 1, 2018, the volume of gas in the underground gas storage (UGS) will be 12.8 billion cubic meters, which is almost comparable to the indicator of 2017.
