Next year, the Moon will get the first mobile network coverage, which will allow the transfer of high-definition information from the Moon to Earth. This is reported by Reuters, Segodnya reports.
This is part of a project that aims to support the lunar mission, funded from private sources.
The project will be implemented by Vodafone Germany. They said they would support the mission, which will be the first, 50 years after the first astronauts of NASA went to the moon.
The partner of Vodafone will be Nokia, which will develop small technological devices capable of providing mobile communications on the Earth satellite.
“This project involves a radically innovative approach to the development of mobile network infrastructure,” – Vodafone Germany CEO said.
This was reported by the press service of National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization.
As it was explained in the press service, the current regulatory framework in the field of telecommunications does not correspond to the rapid development of technology in determining the ways to register subscribers remotely, using remote access tools.
