Elena Scherban, the lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Action Centre, believes that Pavel Zhebrivskyi, the former chairman of the Donetsk Regional Civil-Military Administration, was appointed to the post of auditor of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau for the quota of the President in violation of the law.

It is noted that according to Article 26 of the Law of Ukraine “On the National Anti-Corruption Bureau”, the auditor of the NABU should have experience in law enforcement or judicial bodies abroad or in international organizations. Zhebrivskyi, according to his official biography, has no such experience.
“Appointment of the auditor of the NABU in violation of the law may be appealed in court. That is why if information on the availability of foreign or international experience is not documented, we will go with the collective claim from anti-corruption public organizations to the court,” – Scherban says.
As you know, on June 11, the head of the Donetsk Regional Civil-Military Administration, Pavel Zhebrivskyi, resigned. On June 13, Poroshenko accepted his resignation and awarded him the Order of Yaroslav the Wise. On June 19, Poroshenko appointed him the auditor of the NABU.
It is noted that the ex-head of DonRCMA sees his task as part of the external audit commission for conducting an independent assessment (audit) of the NABU “to help make this body as transparent and effective as possible”.
