Participants of the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe recorded an increase in ceasefire violations in the Donbass.

This is stated in the mission report.

“In the Donetsk region, the SMM recorded more ceasefire violations, including more explosions (about 900) compared to the previous reporting period (about 460 explosions). Most ceasefire violations were recorded in the area between Svetlodarsk and Debaltsevo. In the Lugansk region, more ceasefire violations were recorded, including, however, fewer explosions (15) compared to the previous reporting period (about 130 explosions),” – the report said.

It is noted that the OSCE CMM recorded 915 explosions. For example, about 90 indeterminate explosions were recorded in Gorlovka.

“In the evening and night on May 16-17 in Gorlovka, the OSCE recorded about 90 indeterminate explosions and about 60 shots,” – the report says.

In addition, the participants of the mission noted the damage caused by shelling in residential areas of Nikolaevka. The Mission also continued to monitor the disengagement areas near Stanitsa Luganskaya, Zolotoye and Petrovskoe.
