The Ukrainians owed 38.5 billion UAH in payment for housing and utility services in March 2018. This amount is shown without consideration of debts for electricity.

This is reported by the State Statistics Service, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

It is noted that in March, Ukrainians paid 11.6 billion UAH for utilities, which amounted to 81.4% of the amount charged for this month.

The highest level of payment for public utility services was recorded in the Ternopil region (122.9%, considering the repayment of debts for previous periods) and the Rivne region (101.3%), the lowest in the Lugansk region (51.8%). In the Ukrainian capital, the payment level was 85.9%.

According to the available data of the State Statistics Service, in January-March 2018, 18.6 thousand contracts on repayment of restructured debts for housing services for a total of 125.7 million UAH were concluded with the population. Earlier it was reported that in December the President of Ukraine signed the law “On Housing and Utility Services”. Thus, starting from January 2019, a penalty will be imposed for a delayed payment for utilities.

We recall that the Cabinet of Ministers introduced amendments to the program for granting subsidies.
