The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law No. 8497 on the creation of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.
265 deputies voted for the corresponding decision.
According to Alexei Filatov, the rapporteur on the question and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, this draft law is aimed at implementing the law on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court and will give an opportunity to initiate procedures for the creation and operation of SAC in Kiev.
It should be noted that on June 7 the Verkhovna Rada adopted Law No. 7440 on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine. 315 people's deputies voted for it. Petro Poroshenko signed it on June 11. However, for the very creation of the court, one more law was needed. On June 19, Petro Poroshenko, the President, introduce an urgent bill on the implementation of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada.
Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Action Centre reported that the revision was absent in the conciliation table, set out on the website of the Verkhovna Rada. Such a norm appeared already in the promulgated text of the law. This revision was not read out by Ruslan Knyazevich (the head of the Committee on Legal Policy and Justice) in the session hall before the adoption of the law and was not discussed at the committee. Later, the Rada registered a project to change the scandalous amendment to the law on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court.
