Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada have included the bill No. 6688 in the agenda, which provides for the permission of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) to block websites on the Internet without a relevant court decision. The authors of this project were Ivan Vinnik, Dmitry Tymchuk and Tatyana Chernovol, the people’s deputies from the Committee on National Security and Defense.

This is reported by 24th channel.

The initiators of the draft law propose to amend some laws to “counteract threats to national security in the IT environment”. The document of the bill says that if adopted, then any influence on the actions of the authorities will be threats to the national security of the country. Such actions will be considered as “technological terrorism”.

The Security Service will have the right to block absolutely any Internet resource, not only after a court decision, as it is now, but also on the basis of a decision of the prosecutor, investigator or the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine.

As for providers, they will be forced to conduct temporary blocking of websites. In addition, the document says that providers will be obliged to purchase special equipment for blocking sites at their own expense.
