For several years, Ukrainians have been paying a property tax if they live in an apartment over 60 square meters. Or in a house with an area of more than 120 square meters. The rate of this tax is determined by local authorities, so it is different in various cities and can change each year.

As Svetlana Klyuchnikova, deputy head of the Tax Agency of Konstantinovka told ZI, this year the tax rate decreased from three to one and a half percent in all cities of the country.

That is, somewhere it is 0.5 percent, somewhere – one and a half. Since in 2018 we pay the tax for 2017, then for the calculation is taken the last year's minimum – 3,200 UAH. If the tax rate in your city is 0.5%, then the tax for each “extra” square meter will be 16 UAH (0.5% of UAH 3,200).

At a rate of 1% it will be 32 UAH per square meter, 1,5% - 48 UAH. For example, at a rate of one percent, the owners of an apartment of 75 square meters will need to pay 480 UAH of this tax (32 UAH x 15 sq.m.).

The real estate tax is not paid by families, where five or more children are being raised, family-type children's homes, and ATO participants. Also, orphans and disabled children are free of tax if they are raised by one of the parents.

If you do not live in an apartment, but rent it out, then you will have to pay the tax not only for the square meters exceeding the norm, but for the whole area. And more, if the area of your apartment exceeds 300 square meters, and the area of the house is more than 500 square meters, then the property tax will be 25 thousand UAH per year.

Imagine what taxes are paid by the richest people in the world. Who are they and how many of them, read in the publications on our website.
