Already 19 people, including three children and a pregnant woman, became victims of flu in Ukraine. This was stated by Oksana Artemchuk, the head of the department of influenza and ARVI at the Center for Public Health under the Ministry of Healthcare, PRM reported.
According to her, last week in Ukraine the incidence of viral and respiratory diseases increased again. There is an increase mainly among adults. However, Artemchuk noted, soon a similar situation will be observed among children.
“Children were on vacation, they returned to the educational process from Monday, so starting next week we will see an increase in diseases of influenza and ARVI among children,” – she said.
Artemchuk also stressed that currently the epidemic threshold has not been exceeded in Ukraine. Only in Zhytomyr, Sumy and Odessa regions an excess of the epidemic threshold was recorded.
“I also want to report that there are already 19 fatal cases in Ukraine, among them – a pregnant woman, three children, two medical workers. And none of them was vaccinated against flu,” – Artemchuk said.
In general, she noted, only 0.4% of the population of Ukraine had been vaccinated against influenza and ARVI.
As we reported earlier, all schools in Lutsk and Odessa were placed under quarantine due to the high incidence of measles.
