Now the Aleksandrovskaya community will live “without intermediaries”.
The Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting recognized as self-sufficient 72 territorial communities in which the first elections had been held on December 24, 2017 and April 29, 2018. The communities formed around settlements that are defined by long-term plans as the administrative centers of the Joint Territorial Communities, were also taken into account.
In the Donetsk region, only one community was recognized as self-sufficient – the Aleksandrovskaya community. The elections in it were in April of the current year.
The leader was the Khmelnytsky region, in which nine large communities were recognized as self-sufficient. In Vinnitsa, Donetsk and Lugansk regions only one JTC was recognized as self-sufficient.
“Recognition of the Aleksandrovskaya community as a self-sufficient one gives all the opportunities to switch to direct interbudgetary relations and enjoy all the advantages of the joint community and fully exercise its self-governing powers,” – Maxim Tkach, advisor on decentralization issues of the Donetsk Local Government Development Center, created with the support of the U-LAD Europe Programme, commented”.
