In November 2018, the police of the Donetsk region began to introduce the “Safe House” program. The purpose of this project is to assist people in protecting themselves and their property at their place of residence, to prevent offenses by increasing the level of housing security and interaction between law enforcement agencies and the population, 06274 reports.
After discussing the benefits of the new project with law enforcement officers, citizens started to implement it in their houses. At present, the list of safe houses in Bakhmut has been replenished with another one, third house.
Kemran Arzimanov, the head of the police prevention sector of Bakhmut, together with the residents of the two-story building, attached the “Safe House” sign indicating that the security program was in effect. The program has installed illumination in the local area and entry phones on the doors of entrances. Treillages were installed on the ground floor. In addition, access for outsiders to the attic and basements is blocked. Surveillance cameras were also installed – two outdoor and two inside the entrance. The measures taken will allow residents of high-rise buildings to feel more secure.
The function of law enforcement agencies in the implementation of this project is to assist the population in coordinating and communicating with local authorities, to participate in the creation of a security system, both for a specific house and the city as a whole.
