The sports piggy bank of Dobropolye was filled by another medal – bronze from the regional chess championship.
The championship of the Donetsk region on chess (Rapid and Blitz) was held for two days in Kramatorsk, on August 25 and 26. 30 sportsmen from different cities of the region took part in the competitions: Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, Konstantinovka, Liman, Ugledar and Dobropolye.
Valentin Nepeyvoda, the chess instructor of the Center of Physical Health of the Population “Sport for all” of Dobropolye, defended the honor of his native city with dignity. The regional championship was completed by the coach from Dobropolye with the following results: he scored five victories in nine games, two games ended with a parity of chess players, and two – with a defeat for Nepeyvoda.
The sportsman from Dobropolye fought with strong rivals at competitions, having beaten at the same time the master of the international class from Slavyansk Roman Martynov and the European champion from Kramatorsk, Kamilla Gryshchenko.
Six points in the championship eventually brought the third place and a bronze medal for Valentin Nepeyvoda.
