Last month, Ukrainians began actively withdrawing hryvnia from their bank accounts.

It is noted that the deposit portfolio of individuals in the national currency decreased by 3.1% in 82 banks operating in the country, and reached 254.9 billion UAH. Officials associated this with the holiday season. Later, they also added that this was due to depreciation effects, which began to be felt much earlier than usual this year.
It did not come to the early withdrawals of hryvnia deposits by clients for conversion. But deposits, contracts for which are ending, are actively transferred to the currency.
This order of things is not very convenient for financiers, because they need hryvnia to increase their lending. The banks promised to raise rates in order to somehow save the situation.
“Look at the trend in the growth of demand for foreign currency deposits, the banks are already beginning to conduct various offers with higher rates for hryvnia deposits. I think that in August and September, under these occasional offers, rates can grow by 1-2% per annum,” – Anton Tyutyun, the deputy chairman of Oschadbank, predicted.
The website of the National Bank has already posted information on forecasts for the dollar. According to preliminary data, the exchange rate of the hryvnia to the dollar will be 28.5 UAH / USD. And then it will only rise.
Thus, according to the basic scenario, by the end of the year the dollar in Ukraine will cost in 2019 – 29.4 (± 2) UAH / dollar, in 2020 – 30.2 (± 2) UAH / dollar, in 2021 – 30.7 (± 2) UAH / USD.
