The Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine predicts the circulation of three strains of influenza in Ukraine this winter. These are H1N1 "Michigan", H3N2 "Singapore" and the type B strain "Colorado".

According to specialists from the ministry, the disease will not be active until December. Nevertheless, the overall incidence in the epidemiological season of this year will significantly exceed the figures of previous years.
The head of the department of respiratory and other viral infections of the Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine Alla Mironenko notes that this is due to the recurrence of the disease.
“For example, last season the incidence rate was extremely low, even unusually low, but there is no such luck all the time,” – she said.
Doctors emphasize that the greatest concern is the strain "Singapore". This virus has a high variability, which leads to frequent complications among patients, in particular, severe pneumonia among children, pregnant women and elderly people.
““Singapore” in the United States caused an intense rise in the incidence and a large number of deaths among the elderly last year,” – Mironenko added.
We recall that doctors of Kramatorsk invite residents of the city to be vaccinated against influenza. Offices for getting flu shots are already working. The purchase of anti-influenza vaccine ends this week.
