At the Mariinka Checkpoint, employees of the State Border Guard Service together with the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Fiscal Service in the Donetsk region, who are part of the Joint Forces, detained a minibus, in which a citizen tried to smuggle a batch of smartphones through the checkpoint.
Gadgets were hidden in the technical voids of the car. This is reported by the staff of the JFO.
A man born in 1974 tried to take 32 smartphones of the Xiaomi, Meizu, HomTom brands and peripheral equipment to them to the uncontrolled territory. The total amount of smuggled goods was 162,500 UAH.
“On the basis of the collected materials in respect of a citizen, a protocol on an administrative offense, provided for by Part 1 of Art. 204-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was drawn up. The goods are withdrawn prior to the adoption of a legal decision by the court,” – the statement said.
