Igor Nasalik, the Minister of Energy and Coal Mining of Ukraine, said that in the near future there would be an increase in gas price for the population of Ukraine. According to him, this is a precondition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which must provide Ukraine with the next loan tranche.

He noted that the Cabinet had suspended the ministry from negotiating with the IMF. Therefore, Nasalik could not determine how much the price of gas would be increased, but confirmed the rise in price.
“I do not negotiate on the gas price. This obligation is assigned to the Ministry of Finance,” – the minister added.
Earlier, Vladimir Groisman, the Prime Minister, explained the need to raise gas prices for the population. According to him, if this is not done, then Ukraine will face a financial meltdown.
