Following on from the results of 2017, 53% of Ukrainians do not trust the banks; at the same time, this figure was 19% in 2015.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey on consumer awareness of the system of Deposit Guarantee System for individuals conducted by the USAID project “Transformation of the financial sector”.
According to the survey, the proportion of Ukrainians who do not trust banks their funds rose to 48% in 2017 from 33% in 2015.
There is also a change in the criteria by which depositors choose banks. So, in 2015, 49% of Ukrainians were interested in having guarantees, and only 29% paid attention to the rate.
At the same time, in 2017, the importance of these factors for the choice of the bank was almost equal – 56% pay attention to guarantees and 53% – on the profitability of deposits.
