Investigators of the prosecutor's office, together with the SSU in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, exposed the inspector of the patrol police battalion of the Donetsk region in taking bribes in Slavyansk, the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Donetsk region reported.
As it became known, during the service, the captain stopped the car, checked the documents and informed the driver of an administrative violation under Article 130 (driving under the influence of intoxicants). Instead of drafting administrative documents, the captain put forward a proposal to give him 5,000 UAH promising not to bring the driver to justice in return.
The captain's detention was made at the time of giving money in the service vehicle.
At the moment, the offender was informed of suspicion of committing an offence under Article 368, part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing preventive measures is also being decided. The article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with seizure of property.
