Today, on January 14, the repair teams of Donbass Water Company began repairing the Gorlovka-Toretsk water pipeline. The mechanical damage – namely a pipe gust – was found in the area of a forest belt, – Toretsk City reported. This is about a kilometer from the village of Yuzhny towards Gorlovka. It is assumed that the waterway was shelled, as it had happened already several times. The last time the water pipeline was shelled and left the city without water supply on December 16. And this time, for the first time in 2019, the water stopped flowing into the reservoir on January 12. Today, on January 14, a state of emergency has been introduced in the city due to lack of water. The administration of Toretsk asks citizens not to use water from the heating system for technical purposes. Otherwise the city will remain without heating.
The waterway is being repaired by employees of the Chasov-Yar department of Donbass Water Company. In the meantime, residents of Toretsk are brought water by utility vehicles and service trucks “101”. In all likelihood, if the repair is completed today, then water will be supplied to Toretsk and its environs in the next 24 hours.
