Students of Sumy National Agrarian University at the invitation of the Borys Kolesnikov Fund visited the best food factories of the Donbass.

On the first day of their visit, March 14, future specialists visited the Artvayneri sparkling wine factory on an excursion in Bakhmut. Today it is one of the largest factories of the wine industry in Eastern Europe. In the underground gypsum tunnels, where the constant temperature is maintained all 365 days a year, the best sparkling wine in the world is produced.

The entire production process takes place at a depth of 72 meters. The area of underground tunnels is about 30 hectares. Descending, students – future technologists, managers, economists, winemakers, environmentalists, lawyers, and agronomists – saw how champagne was made. The guests were shown the work of the new European equipment in the bottling and transportation department. They also saw how fragrant wines are aged and are gaining kick. Moreover, the masters of winemaking at this factory have learned so much to select blends – the aromas of vintage wines, that they resemble the smell of berries and fruits, although there is nothing besides grapes in them.

The finished bottle champagne finds regular customers in 20 countries of the world on different continents; this is clearly shown by the map in one of the tunnels. The largest consumer of the company's products is Germany. It is appreciated also in France, because in quality it is not inferior to traditional French wines made in the Champagne province.

In the afternoon, the guests from Sumy visited the Altair ice arena in Druzhkovka, where the match was held between the teams “Donbass” and “Belyi Bars” hockey clubs (Bila Tserkva). After a hard struggle, the ice masters defeated their rivals with a score of 5-4.

On the second day, March 15, the citizens of Sumy visited the APK-Invest meat-processing complex, which is part of a major innovation campaign. APK-Invest is the leader in the production of chilled pork, every third kilogram of this kind of meat in Ukraine is produced here. The production is based on a closed cycle, which includes a land bank, its own feed mill, animal husbandry and processing of meat products, followed by delivery to open markets. APK-Invest products are known under the brand name M'yasna Vesna in our country and abroad.

Detailed information was provided to the students by Ivan Bashkir, the director of the processing complex, and then the guys were able to taste and appreciate the taste of meat products during the tasting.

- This trip made it possible for me to learn a lot about the structure of food factories, to see the production process from the inside. I think that I could find a job for myself at such a factory after I graduated from university,” – Yulia Opanasenko, a graduate student at the faculty of veterinary medicine, shared her impressions.

- For me, this trip was informative and showed career opportunities after graduating from high school,” – Yulia Kutkova, a student of economics and management, noted.

- It was interesting to learn the technology of cooking meat products and see how the wine is produced, as well as what specialists are required for this. I discovered new job opportunities. Thanks to the Borys Kolesnikov Fund for organizing this necessary trip for us, students.

At the end of the trip, the guests from Sumy were able to see how sweets of the Konti trademark are made. The factory of the confectionery industry is located in Konstantinovka. Here, the guys were shown the process of making wafer sweets "Jack", cookies "Den i noch" (transl. Day and Night), "Kontik", dessert "Bonjour" directly in the workshops.
