The journalist Arkady Babchenko is alive, he did not die yesterday.
On May 30 in Kiev, the SSU detained the suspect organizer of the murder of journalist Arkady Babchenko. This was announced at a briefing by Vasily Hrytsak, the head of the special service.
Babchenko himself was also invited to a briefing.
“People came to me a month ago; they said that “I've been marked for death”. The cost is 40 thousand dollars. Then, they showed my documents, my passport details, my photo, which is only in my passport and only in the passport office ... Such information could be obtained only by special services. I'm still alive. That ain't gonna happen,” – the journalist explained.
The investigation found that the special services of the Russian Federation instructed citizen G. to find the contract killer. The citizen G. received 40 thousand dollars from the intelligence services, 10 of them left himself as a dealer, 30 thousand he paid the performer. After fulfilling the order, citizen G. intended to leave Ukraine.
The SSU managed to prevent the murder of the journalist due to timely information received, Gritsak said.
