Four years ago, the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces were created in Konstantinovka.
In the fall of 2014, the 90th airmobile battalion was established on the territory of Konstantinovka, and since 2015 it has been named after Ivan Zubkov, the Hero of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant. Yesterday this formation celebrated its birthday.
Traditionally, the dress parade took place at the square. The awards given by the Decree of the President of Ukraine were received by 30 former servicemen of this battalion. In addition, other servicemembers received their awards from the chief of the General Staff, the commander of the Assault Forces and the commander of the 81th Separate Airmobile Infantry Brigade.
The relatives of the dead soldiers came on the birthday of the battalion, because after all the soldiers of the 90th airmobile battalion defended the Donetsk airport. Then, 38 people were killed in the battles for the Donetsk airport, the total loss of the battalion was 46 soldiers. Their names are written on the monuments of cyborgs, installed in the territory of the battalion.
The schoolchildren of Konstantinovka arranged a small concert near the monument, and after the commemorative prayer everybody laid flowers at the monument.
