This is reported by Interfax-Ukraine, referring to the operational information of Ukrtransgaz.

According to the published report, including gas transit through Ukraine to Europe during this period amounted to 56.4 billion cubic meters, which is 6.5% less than in January-August last year.

At the same time, gas transit via the Ukrainian GTS to Moldova increased by 12.2% to 1.9 billion cubic meters.

As a result of August this year, gas transit decreased by 17% compared to August last year – up to 7.3 billion cubic meters.

Gas transit through Ukraine to Europe amounted to 7.1 billion cubic meters, which is 17.4% less than in August 2017, to Moldova – 162.3 million cubic meters, which is 5% more than in the same period last year.

We recall that Ukraine increased the transit of natural gas through its GTS by 13.7% (+11.3 billion cubic meters) in 2017, compared to 2016 – up to 93.5 billion cubic meters.

The data from the European Commission's quarterly report from European gas markets show that Ukraine's gas transmission system, last year, accounted for 44% of Russian gas supplies to the EU, which is 1% more than a year ago.

Earlier it was reported that the Polish company had been negotiating on gas supplies to Ukraine.
