40 hectares of dry grass, bushes and trees burned as a result of the fire near the Novotroitskoye Checkpoint.
This was announced today by the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Donetsk region.
- On August 29 at 08:30 PM, the dispatcher of the Rescue Service “101” received a message about a fire that had occurred on the field in the village of Berezovoe of the Volnovakhsky district of the Donetsk region. The duty departments of the 11th State Fire and Rescue Detachment were sent to the indicated address,” – the State Emergency Service told.
At the site of the emergency, rescuers found out that dry grass had been burning on the field near the Novotroitskoye Checkpoint.
- According to preliminary information, the fields were mined and it was impossible to extinguish the fire due to a threat to personnel. Rescuers extinguished the fire beds along the road. Road-tankers of the AFU worked on the field. During the extinguishment of the fire, on August 30 at 04:50 AM on the roadside near the village of Berezovoe, an explosion of an unexploded ordnance occurred. The staff of the Main Directorate was taken away to a safe distance. A little later, the fire was extinguished at the checkpoint. Additional forces and means were involved on the scene of the incident. On August 31 at 06:30 AM the rescuers liquidated the fire. The fire destroyed 40 hectares of dry grass, bushes and trees, – the press service reported.
It is noted that 23 persons of personnel and 5 units of equipment were involved from the Main Directorate in order to eliminate the fire.
