In this regional center, the open championship of Ukraine on cycling took place on the highway in races: individual, group and criterium among boys and girls.
The Donetsk region was represented by 14 sportsmen – pupils of the regional specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve for cycling (Liman), the Donetsk Higher School of the Olympic Reserve named after Sergei Bubka and the complex sports school “Athletic” (Mariupol).
Alexei Nikipelov (the regional specialized children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve for cycling – the Donetsk Higher School of the Olympic Reserve named after Sergei Bubka, coaches are Valery Krasov, Alexander Gerashchenko, Alexander Yarmak) won the group race at 50 km among young boys.
The owner of the silver in the individual race among the girls was the pupil of the complex sports school “Athletic” – Diana Malinova from Mariupol (coaches are Roman Ivanov, Irina Sivakova).
Alla Marushchuk won the bronze medal at the end of the race-criterion among the girls, who started performing for the Donetsk region from 2018 (the Olympic reserve for cycling, coach is Valery Krasov).
It is worth noting that in total about 160 athletes from 28 teams defending the honor of 16 regions of Ukraine and bicyclists from Brest (Belarus) took part in the competitions.
