In Kramatorsk, the results of the joint work of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety with law enforcement agencies of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions to combat illegal carriers in the JFO and corrupt practices in the field of road transport were announced.
During the summing-up, the Head of State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, Mikhail Nonyak, thanked the representatives of the National Police and State Border Guard Service for their help and fruitful cooperation.
During the reporting period, more than 15 thousand units of vehicles were tested by joint efforts. Now in the Donetsk region there are four mass-size complexes, on which more than 3 thousand cars were checked, of which in 525 cases acts were drawn up about various violations.
At the moment, the main focus of the work is to reduce the level of accidents and injuries on the roads. The main task is to ensure the safety of citizens during traffic. It is worth noting that according to statistics in 2018 the level of accidents in the Donetsk region did not increase compared with the previous year.
A separate area of work of State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety is the fight against corruption and illegal carriers, including raising the awareness of citizens. During the entire time, the makeup work of illegal passenger traffic is being conducted. Here we are talking not only about tax evasion, which leads to multimillion-dollar losses in the budget, but also about the safety of passengers, which cannot be provided by illegal carriers.
At the end of the meeting, it was stressed that all departments were working together to achieve a common goal.
