True, the residents of Konstantinovka – that sounds dramatic, because yesterday, in front of the building of the executive committee of the City Council, about 30 people gathered at a mass meeting organized by one of the political forces. They came to express dissatisfaction with the government about the increase in the cost of gas. There were mainly retirees and citizens of pre-retirement age. Most of them pay for all services by subsidies, and increases in tariff do not affect their payments. But they feel sorry for their children and grandchildren.
“My son and daughter-in-law do not receive subsidies,” – the former teacher Nadezhda Ivanovna says, - “because their son, my grandson, works in Russia. They both work and pay for utilities in full. This year, after the gas price rises, for 400 cubes in December-February (in other, not very cold months, 250-300 cubes) they need to pay 3,422 UAH. About 200 UAH will be the price for electricity, 100 UAH – water and 45 UAH – garbage disposal. It turns out total: 3 767 UAH. The daughter-in-law earns 3 723 UAH, so 3 000 UAH (because of taxes). In what country can it be so that the family’s minimum wage is not enough to pay utility bills?
The mass meeting lasted about 15-20 minutes, the participants accepted an appeal to the government and handed it over to the secretary of the city council Yuri Razumny. And he promised to send it to the destination. The attitude to the usefulness of such an event was expressed by the deputy of the city council Lyubov Zemskova:
- Such meetings would undoubtedly be beneficial if it were not 30, but at least 1,000 people who gathered. After all, the increase in gas prices concerns each of us, and people would come to express their dissatisfaction if they were told about it. And even we, the deputies, did not know anything about this event...
