Today, on June 13, the European Parliament voted to allocate macrofinancial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 1 billion euros.
That was reported by Rikard Jozwiak, the journalist of Radio Svoboda.
It is noted that 527 members of the EP voted “for”, and 124 “against”.
“If everything goes well, the first tranche can be paid already in September,” – Jozwiak said.
A little later, the news about the allocation of financial assistance to Ukraine was commented on in the social network by Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine.
“The vast majority of the deputies have just supported the proposal of the European Commission to allocate a new program of EU macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 1 billion euros. Thanks to all the friends of Ukraine in the European Parliament and European institutions for the unity in supporting Ukraine! This is another indication of our real progress on the path of reform. I look forward to the final approval of the EU Council,” – the head of state wrote.
