Petro Poroshenko, the President, signed a decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) to impose sanctions on individuals and legal entities of the Russian Federation involved in the occupation of the Crimea and the aggression in the east of Ukraine.

294 companies and 848 individuals were put under the sanctions. It is about those who are related to an armed attack on Ukrainian warships in the Kerch Strait, organizing the so-called “elections” in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donbass and the Crimean Peninsula, violated the laws of Ukraine, illegally driving into the temporarily occupied the territory of the Crimea, and also distributed publishing products anti-Ukrainian content.
In addition, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has imposed sanctions on certain members of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and heads of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia.
It is noted that restrictive measures have already been introduced by the EU, the USA and Canada regarding some individuals and legal entities that fell under the Ukrainian sanctions.
